Two Awards, I Am Honored.

Two Blog Awards, from the same person, so I am combining them, because it’s easier.
The rules:

#1 Thank and link to the amazing person who nominated you.

Easy. Even without being able to see, (need new glasses, appointment is over – glasses had to be ordered. )

Glasses are HERE. Do not know if they’re okay or not, because my eyes are still too sore.

Andy Lawson, I am honored and terribly sorry that it’s taken me so long to do this. I feel terrible about it and will take a stab at it now.

I thank Andy, because I probably know how to. If I mess it up, someone please tell me. Deal?

Already following.
#2 List the rules and display the awards

Awards displayed. (here, I don’t know how to put them anywhere else, help is begged for) And the rules are:

Thank and link to the amazing person who nominated you.
List the rules and display the award.
Share seven facts about yourself.
Nominate 15 other amazing blogs and comment on their posts to let them know they have been nominated.
Proudly display the award logo on your blog and follow the blogger who nominated you.

#3 List 7 facts about yourself

1. I’m afraid of thunderstorms, heights and too many other things to count.

2. I’m allergic to shellfish. Guess how I found out?

3. I sleep with the covers on, all the time, even when it’s too hot.

4. I don’t eat out, ever, as I’m allergic to too many things – and it’s embarrassing to get sick in parking lots, in front of everyone.

5. I’m a home-cook, why? See #4, but I do love to cook.

6. I’m almost a vegan, except for the Greek Yogurt, which is the almost part of it.

7. My soul-mate, best friend and all around wonderful person, loves meat, I make stuff meatless, he adds meat to his.

#4 Answer the questions given by the award giver

1. If you could make one piece of clothing illegal, what would it be? – Only one? for guys, it would have to be neck ties. (do you want to wear a noose around your neck?)

2. If you could travel anywhere, for free, where would you go? And why? – Um, probably wouldn’t, but it would be nice if I could donate that free travel.

3. If the bank made a mistake, and put sixty thousand dollars in your account, what would you do? – Transfer it to a different bank and figure they’ll never know. What are the odds? 🙂

4. What are your thoughts on legalizing marijuana? – It’s legal in our state; I’m okay with it. The dispensaries are opening soon and the town right next to us has the first one! Yay, South Windsor, CT. All the towns are fighting for them. (our town lost)

5. What is your favorite childhood memory? – That’s a hard one. I don’t think I have any. Wait, yes I do! Any and all of the time spent with my grandparents, who loved me when I thought I was unlovable. 🙂

6. What did you want to be when you grew up, and what do you do instead? – A teacher, an artist and a musician. Instead, I am an artist, but of a different kind – I’m an aromatherapist, herbalist, natural perfumer and though I’ve painted and sold them, I stopped when I realized that it took more time than I had.

7. What happened on the best workday you’ve ever had? – I got so many orders, that I was up all night filling them, and twice as many compliments. 🙂 It was also my own business.

8. What was your favorite thing that your mother used to cook for you? – Apple pie – hers was always better than mine. 🙂

9. Do you believe in soul mates or love at first sight? – Soul mates? Sure, but love at first sight? Nope, that’s “lust” at first sight – love takes time.

10. If you could go back in time, and change one thing, what would it be? – Not a thing, even the worst things, we learn from.

11. Are you married? And if so, describe your proposal. – Yes. Three times. Proposal? There was supposed to be a proposal? 🙂

#5 List your nominees (in no particular order)

1. Greg Schiller- Because you got us all back together again. 🙂

2. Len Maxwell – You’re here and pitching in with the prompts, just like over “there”!

3. Mike Steeden – You have a blog that makes me laugh, but you’ve also made me cry. (Gaza poem)

4. Irina Dimitric – For making the world a beautiful place and letting me share it.

5.Slpsharon – Good things to see and read, when you’re around!

6. Doug Westberg – For too many reasons to list here.

7. Rachel Carrera- For her daily words of wisdom, her writing, her author reviews and many more reasons. Todays
was hilarious.

9. Allison -You write from the heart!

10. joatmon14 – Someone we call all learn a lot from, and a fairly new friend.

11. Don/Uncle Bardie Just because you write good stuff.

12. SOZ SATIRE: Clive – Okay, so you’re not a figment of my imagination!

13. Pam Brittain – Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know you don’t want this, but this is for, “Love, Elsie” and did I say you don’t have to
do this? Right, you don’t have to do this!

14. Maggie D. For your great prompts that I haven’t been able to see to do, lately. I will!

15. Carol – Doug’s wife, I have to find her blog, if I don’t – please pass it on, Doug, she’s got a lot of strength and courage and I admire her.

My questions:

Only two:

1. Rename the word blog, because I truly cannot stand the word.

Be creative, no, Andy, not Journal, that’s not creative.

2. Please let me know how I can put up a better profile, because I don’t know what I’m doing, yes, really and I still want free!

If you don’t want to do this, I understand totally, because I’ve put it off forever, because I don’t know what I’m doing. Okay? Good. LiebsterAward_zps84caa657 VeryInspiringBloggerAward_zpsa0f32067

Battle For The Net

If you woke up tomorrow, and your internet looked like this, what would you do? Imagine all your favorite websites taking forever to load, while you get annoying notifications from your ISP suggesting you switch to one of their approved “Fast Lane” sites.Think about what we would lose: all the weird, alternative, interesting, and enlightening stuff that makes the Internet so much cooler than mainstream Cable TV. What if the only news sites you could reliably connect to were the ones that had deals with companies like Comcast and Verizon? On September 10th, just a few days before the FCC’s comment deadline, public interest organizations are issuing an open, international call for websites and internet users to unite for an “Internet Slowdown” to show the world what the web would be like if Team Cable gets their way and trashes net neutrality. Net neutrality is hard to explain, so our hope is that this action will help SHOW the world what’s really at stake if we lose the open Internet. If you’ve got a website, blog or tumblr, get the code to join the #InternetSlowdown here: else, here’s a quick list of things you can do to help spread the word about the slowdown: Get creative! Don’t let us tell you what to do. See you on the net September 10th!

My World & Welcome to it

And another Gather good person starts wandering around, and ends up here. YAY Kevin!

20140324_162406Welcome to my world. My world is deep in Georgia in a place that is well known for it’s civil war prison (Andersonville). Georgia peaches, pecans and cotton are also well known at least they are to those in the rest of the world who have even heard of Georgia.

Oh we have other uniquely Georgia experiences. We have our own language for instance that mirrors English but is not quite English and takes at least two years to understand a lot of it and about ten years to master it. We have not just 4 seasons we have 5. We have one of the most annoying insects that God ever created. We have the most friendly unfriendly people in the USA. At the same time we have some of the most incredible people anywhere. In my corner of Georgia we have some of the most peaceful acres of any of God’s green acres.

The language spoken…

I know, I Know, It’s been days…

Problem is: I don’t yet have my new glasses yet; probably another week. You are all blurry, as is this.

I’ve found a lot of great people, except they’re all blurry, too. Even squinting. Crap!

I am following a bunch of you, in hopes that when I can see again, I can make better comments. Another week. Or so. The good news is that they’re paid for. The bad news is that they had to order the lenses. That’s my luck.

I viewed and commented and sure hope I didn’t offend anyone, by mistakenly hitting wrong keys and then – not knowing that I did it. It’s not funny a’tall and I hope it’s not offensive.

I keep changing my theme, so I don’t exactly know which one I’m using anymore – but it’s free.

I’ll be deleting myself from another site I write for, because they went into my “drafts” folder and published something I was not done with. THE NERVE! Wouldn’t you? I’ll copy it for probably here, first, but I’m getting out of there. Spies. Who the hell needs more spies? Not me, that’s for sure!

(On the other hand, they might delete me, because I told off the admins terribly) That’s okay!

For some reason, I feel safer here. Let’s see if I can get an image in here, who knows? If I do, it’ll be one of mine. I’ll give it a try.

Yup, that fits, It’s blurry. And one of mine. How ’bout that?

Perfectly Acceptable Questions To Ask A Blogger If You Are Not One

Are you kidding? I’m sending everyone I know, right here!

The World of Andy Lawson

I believe I’m not alone in this. More often than not, people from the real side of life (mainly people whom you can poke their eyes with your fingers if they are in front of you) are inquisitive, often asking questions regarding affairs that they can live without knowing, such as how many times we have sex in the kitchen, our preferences in positions and blah blah blah. Of all the questions posed to me, some are about the affairs of blogging that you and I are doing on a daily (if you blog daily) basis. So here I am, with a list of answers that can help you when you are facing them.

The next time someone comes to you and asks you about blogging, you can direct him or her (or it) here to save your time. Oh my, what a way to bring traffic to my blog.

Liebster Award for The World Of Andy Lawson

EEKKK! I’ve been nominated for my first blog award!

The World of Andy Lawson

Liebster Award

This is a little too crazy. I am still trying to wake myself up from the dream.

Screen Shot 2014-07-24 at 12.43.31 pm

After getting the nomination for “One Lovely Blog” award by Diana, I found myself getting nominated for Liebster award by SkinnyandSingle. Trust me, it’s all getting too good to be true. I’m kind of at the point where I can’t find words to say other than “THANK YOU!”. And then dance like a cutie.

Source: Source:

Like all other awards, we have work to do/rules to follow:

  • Thank the person who nominated you for the award
  • Display the banner/sticker/logo on your blog
  • Answer the questions the award giver asked
  • List 11 facts about yourself
  • List your nominees

I guess the rules to the game are pretty much the same. So let me get to work here:

#1  Thank the person who nominated you for the award

Big hugs go to SkinnyandSingle
